Book Description

The world in which we live, is experiencing an unparalleled increase in digital technologies. Data is at the core of the current digital innovation. It is estimated that global data generation will triple between 2025 and 2029. The reasons behind this worldwide growth in data are varied, but undeniably they include the increased use of digital technologies in all areas of life.

While the volume of available data is important, in terms of innovation, availability coped with the knowledge on how to use the data is the key to success. Data analysts, information technology engineers and the likes focus on gathering, linking, interpreting, using data, creating algorithms and code in order to address specific problems and create new digital solutions. The role of lawyers in this framework is not of less importance. Lawyers need to ensure that all of these data driven activities comply with the applicable legal framework and that all the safeguards are in place for the protection of fundamental rights.
